5 March 2011 - Field observation
During this workshop the basic concepts of Permaculture design were explained and we started the practical exercise about observing the present conditions of the land and its surrounding. This exercise was concluded by a round up of impressions where valuable remarks and suggestions were shared to provide the ground base for the next steps into land development.
12 March 2011 - Sector planning
In this 2 hour workshop we are taking the results of our Field observation workshop as an input for the next step; Sector planning. From here we move on to the design processes Resources and Evaluation and, if time and circumstances allow us, to make our first steps into the design of the field.
19 March 2011 - Designing the field
In this 2 hour workshop we are taking our first steps into the design of the field. With the information we have gathered during our field observation and sector planning workshops we can now start exploring how different aspects of the design might look.
10 April 2011 - Water harvesting
In this 3 hour workshop we are going to redesign the existing water flows on the field in such a way that it serves our purpose the best. For this we are going to build a swale and are going to work on other water harvesting possibilities our land has to offer. This workshop is a hands-on workshop. Participants are involved in the design of the swale and in the actual building of it.
17 April 2011 - Raised beds and keyhole gardens
In this 3 hour workshop we are briefly addressing the benefits and different designs of raised bed and keyhole gardens. After this short explanation we are going to design and create these gardens ourselves. This workshop is a hands-on workshop. Participants are involved in the building of the raised bed and keyhole garden. This workshop was organized in cooperation with the Green Ark.
